Poetry Slam

Slam poetry is performance art. Every participating poet is tasked with composing a compelling, four minute poem about social issues, city life, or personal triumphs.

Rules:
Your poem must contain original content.
You have four minutes to perform, plus a 30 second grace period.
No props, costumes, instruments, etc.
Your performance and content will be scored on a 0 - 30 basis. The audience has the ability to influence the volunteer judge's scoring in either direction.

Tie breakers are determined by audience participation. Please be vocal about scoring, as well as, tie breaking. 

We will need at least three judges from the audience. If you have experience in performance art or writing, please volunteer.

A grand prize will be awarded to the poet with the highest score either through general judging or through tie breaking.
